How to install Safe Lagoon on your child's device

The blue Safe Lagoon app goes on your child's phone. Install it from the Play link below — do not search by name.

Safe Lagoon is two apps:

  • Blue app (Safe Lagoon Parental Control) — install on your child's Android phone or tablet.
  • Orange app (Parental Control - Safe Lagoon) — install on your phone. See Install the orange Parent app.

If you are not sure which phone you are holding, read Which app goes on which phone first.

Install on the child's device

  1. On the child's phone, open this Play Store link (do not search by name — the names are easy to mix up): Safe Lagoon child app
  2. Tap Install, then Open.
  3. Sign in with the parent account (the same email you used to register).
  4. Create or choose this child's profile.
  5. Follow the on-screen permission steps (Accessibility, location, battery unrestricted, and so on).
  6. When the setup asks for the Device Monitor module, install it. That is required for calls, SMS, and the photo gallery. See How to install the Device Monitor module.

Setup takes a few minutes and must be done on the child's actual device. You cannot install remotely.

Optional but stronger: Tamper-resistant setup (Device Owner). That path takes about 10 minutes and a computer. The child cannot turn the app off or uninstall it without a factory reset.

Google account linking is not required for basic protection. You only need the child's Google email and password if you want YouTube history via Google Link.

If you installed the blue app on your own phone

Do not uninstall. Email support@safelagoon.com and we will switch the device without a reinstall. Then install the orange Parent app on your phone and the blue app on the child's phone.

Notes

  • The child will see the app. We do not hide it.
  • Keep the app installed. Removing it stops protection.
  • After OEM phones (Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, Huawei), set battery to Unrestricted and lock Safe Lagoon in Recents. See the vendor articles under Recommended settings.
